During the recent Monroe-Woodbury Parents' Football Club dinner, the 2011 scholarship awards were presented.

The awards were named for the late Michael J. Finnegan, who attended Monroe-Woodbury High School, was an athlete, a scholar, a community volunteer and a devoted son.

Kevin Egan and Anthony Patrignelli are seniors at the school who have made their mark as honor students, school leaders and active community volunteers.

Egan, who received a $7,500 award, ranks in the top third of his graduating class. He was a starting offensive lineman for the 2011 M-W Crusaders football team, and is active in school and church activities.

Patrignelli, who received a $15,000 award, ranks in the top 20 percent of his graduating class. He was a two-year starter on the Crusaders and team captain in his senior year. He also volunteers with local organizations and charities.

For information, call Thomas J. Lemmey, treasurer of the scholarship fund, at 361-5443. Money is raised largely through an annual golf outing.
